The Hispanic Heritage Projects are completed with the three dimensional works now displayed in the art cases in the commons. The following  handout is our new project.



SELF PORTRAIT:…in Mixed Media                     6th and 7th grade

In looking at a self portrait, one does not have to have a straight on, traditional, realistic close up of one’s self to show portraiture.

Ask yourself:

 What does self portrait mean to you where or not you use a traditional likeness
( like a photo ).

How can I say “ me” without the traditional, imagery  or methods  

What symbols/ imagery can I use to represent myself

We will have demos on collage, digital acrylic transfer, monotype printing

We will discuss what makes a strong design

Grade back to you on Tuesday Nov. 18 


You may have until December 12 to redo anything and turn in for the final Semester grade.

In your journal :

1.    a list of words associated with each stage of your life 
2.    sketches of imagery
3.    how many types of media can you use

4.    make a list of responses to FAVORITE:
